William Hill Closes Australian Sportsbetting
Last week there was some big news in the casino industries, both in the online and real world settings regarding William Hill.
It looks as if William Hill has stopped all their online sportsbetting operations in Australia, many people have claimed that the main reason for doing so is to protect their application for a Nevada gaming license.
The sports betting and online casino giant has apparently already instructed all of its Australian clients to withdraw any outstanding winnings or amounts left in online accounts. This may have come as quite a surprise to many unsuspecting Australian gamblers but sources say that William Hill have known about this for quite some time. They obviously view the possibilty of receiving the Nevada license as highly important and quite clearly so in my opinion.
The question still remains as to when exactly the licensing may occur but William Hill Casino are getting all their ducks in a row to be the 1st in line. This is an exciting piece of news for us in the online casino world and while it may be tough news for sports betting fans in that region it just makes financial sense.
US residents look likely to be able to experience the thrill of online gambling soon although this may be limited to certain states initailly. Casino games like poker and blackjack will always be the major drawcard for new online gamblers but slots and online scratch cards will also be included in the list of games that Americans should expect be able to play very soon.
